The title is deliberately provocative but I thought it might help in getting the ball rolling on this.
The new website is a distinct step forward from the previous one, but it highlights the fact that as a Group, we are ‘all at sea’ in regards to our branding. The site doesn’t have a logo or brand identity as such, simply a typographical ‘Heading/Title’ following the styles and colours used throughout.
The previous website used a white-on-red 2D approximation of the classic logo created by Chris Manning (as featured on the 2021 Yearbook). The white-on-red version is still used on our Twitter account (https://twitter.com/SGMWupdates) so we currently have three different identities – and that’s not good. We usually produce some printed signage for our Karting event so I think we need to move pretty quickly on this.
At the very least, we need consistency.
Is it time for a new identity?
Thoughts and comments welcomed…
