As the Southern Group swiftly moves into 2025, the committee is pleased to announce the arrival of two new members, with Shane Wilkinson and Glenn Brooks both joining late last month.
Shane Wilkinson: Auto Express
Shane, who is currently Senior Content Editor at Auto Express, has only been in the field of automotive journalism since 2021, but has made a substantial impact since making the switch from the world of radio.
He’s appeared on both the print and web sides of Auto Express, where he’s been fortunate enough to cover some of the largest breaking stories in automotive, while also producing dedicated best car lists. He has also been fortunate to amass a substantial collection of branded notebooks, pens, and water bottles – if ever you needed a reason to write about cars.
His current daily steed in between press loans is a Suzuki Swift Sport appropriately finished in the shade of Speedy Blue.
Glenn Brooks: Just-Auto
When asked about how long he’s been into cars, Glenn simply answered “since childhood.” An answer that many SGMW members can agree with.
Glenn’s experience ranges from reviewing cars for local newspapers, helming an industry newswire service, editing an F1 magazine, and running a car consumer website in sunny California. With the latter sounding like very nice work to us. Currently, he reviews new cars for the industry portal Just-Auto.com.
He also drives a classic Rover SD1 Vitesse. A car that is his own words makes him very happy.
